We educate our mamas by providing resources, workshops, and conversations that affect us during the early stages of motherhood. We advocate by speaking up about the disparities that we face in the BIPOC motherhood experience to start making the changes in our communities. We elevate BIPOC mamas by amplifying your stories, your voices, and, most importantly, your joy. We believe that your joy matters, and we want the whole world to see it and know it.
When I became a mother, I noticed the lack of representation and diversity in the motherhood community. It was frustrating not to see or hear many stories, resources, or tools related to my motherhood experience as a Black woman. BIPOC moms are in the motherhood space, and it's unfair that they are often not represented not only physically, but our stories are missing. Melanated Mamas is a space where we can bridge the gap, be seen, be heard, and be empowered.
